Scott Greenstein, MD was quoted in an article for the Huffington Post about ways that certain ocular problems can be signs of underlying issues. For example, if the eyelids are unable to close, this may be a symptom of facial nerve paralysis, which can be a feature of Lyme Disease. Additionally, extreme dryness could be a sign of an autoimmune disease.
