Medical education is integral to Harvard Ophthalmology's mission, and our internationally renowned faculty offer dynamic and broad-reaching educational programs for trainees of all levels.

## Medical Student Education

During the third-year course in Core Medicine, Harvard Medical School students receive introductory training on vision and disorders of the eye, which is taught by Harvard Ophthalmology faculty. Additionally, students have an opportunity to both observe and evaluate patients in the Mass. Eye and Ear Emergency department. Students can also take electives in basic ophthalmology at Mass. ## Residency Program

The Harvard Ophthalmology Residency Training Program is one of the premier ophthalmology training programs in the country. Directed by Jennifer Lindsey, MD, MBA, the program offers a stellar educational experience under the mentorship of some of the nation’s finest faculty. [Learn more](/residency)
