The event honored 10 Harvard Ophthalmology residents, the AY2024–2025 Chief Resident, two optometry residents, and 30 clinical fellows from Mass Eye and Ear, Joslin Diabetes Center, and Boston Children’s Hospital. Department Chair [Joan W. Miller, MD](https://eye.hms.harvard.edu/joanmiller), speaking to the graduates, shared, “My hope for you is that you commit to lifelong learning and intellectual challenge. And also that you share your knowledge, discoveries, and insights with your colleagues and the broader community. Pay it forward.” Several faculty and staff were also honored during the ceremony. Dr. Joan Miller received the Simmons Lessell Excellence in Education Award. This award recognizes faculty who have made—and continue to make—sustained and profound contributions to education— just like Dr. Lessell. We’re proud that two graduates will continue their training at Mass Eye and Ear. Lindsay Klofas Kozek, MD, PhD, will stay on as Director of Resident Academics at Harvard Ophthalmology (formerly referred to as the Chief Resident) and Director of Eye Trauma at Mass Eye and Ear.
