#  Mass General Brigham Hosts 2025 World Medical Innovation Forum

On September 15-17, 2025 the [World Medical Innovation Forum](https://worldmedicalinnovation.org/) brought together nearly 2,000 leaders from industry, investment, government, and academia to explore the breakthroughs reshaping healthcare. Conversations spanned the future of care delivery, AI, oncology, neuroscience, and community health, highlighting both the challenges ahead and the transformative potential of new science and technology. The closing day of the Forum reflected a shared commitment to accelerating discovery and advancing patient care worldwide.

Incoming Ophthalmology Chair [Rishi Singh, MD](/people/rishi-singh-md "Rishi Singh, MD"), moderated a forum on [Saving Vision and Treating Ocular Disease](https://2025.worldmedicalinnovation.org/con-event/saving-vision-and-treating-ocular-disease/), which highlighted the current landscape of vision science innovation, examined barriers to implementation, and identified the most promising therapeutic pathways poised to reduce global blindness over the next decade. Panelists included ophthalmology faculty [Reza Dana, MD, MSc, MPH](/rezadana "Reza Dana, MD, MSc, MPH"), [Petr Baranov, MD, PhD](/petrbaranov "Petr Baranov, MD, PhD"), and [Nazlee Zebardast, MD, MSc](/nazleezebardast "Nazlee Zebardast, MD, MSc"), as well as Erin Kimbrel, PhD, Head of Cell and Gene Therapy Research at Astellas Pharma.

[Michael Gilmore, PhD](/michaelgilmore "Michael S. Gilmore, PhD"), also moderated a panel on [Antimicrobial Resistance](https://2025.worldmedicalinnovation.org/con-event/antimicrobial-resistance-the-urgent-global-response/) and the scientific, clinical and policy approaches that may help mitigate it.
