[Nazlee Zebardast, MD, MSc](/nazleezebardast "Nazlee Zebardast, MD, MSc"), an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School, has been selected to receive the 2026 Carl Camras Translational Research Award at the ARVO annual meeting this spring. This award recognizes outstanding young investigators whose research excellence has the potential for meaningful clinical application.

A leading clinician scientist in glaucoma, Dr. Zebardast conducts research that combines machine learning, genetics, and large-scale data analytics to advance precision medicine in glaucoma. Her key contributions include demonstrating the use of polygenic risk scores for risk assessment in large biobank populations and pioneering image-based machine learning endophenotypes to drive novel genetic discoveries in glaucoma.
