Eye and Ear, where he mentored two generations of ophthalmologists interested in glaucoma. The program is centered on resident education and includes lectures and case presentations by residents. **Strabismus Fall Festival** October 17, 2015 Presented by: Harvard Medical School, Mass. Eye and Ear, and Boston Children's Hospital Faculty: Dean M. Cestari, MD, Gena Heidary, MD, PhD, David Hunter, MD, PhD, and Melanie Kazlas, MD Designed for anyone interested in strabismus surgery, including physicians, optometrists, orthoptists and trainees, this one-day symposium was CME accredited (7.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits). In this course, we discussed the evaluation and management of common and advanced strabismus cases using a case based approach. "Unknown" cases were presented to a panel of expert strabismus surgeons and the audience will hear a real time discussion of surgical decision making and outcomes. Didactic talks were given by each panelist that covered a broad range of clinical topics. These talks reinforced the learning points emphasized during the case discussions and provided an update on advances in the fields of strabismus surgery and pediatric ophthalmology. Our time honored Robb-Petersen lectureship took place during the course. The Robb-Petersen guest lecturer for this event was Kenneth Wright, MD, Director Wright Foundation for Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus, Clinical Professor Ophthalmology USC - Keck School of Medicine. 29th Biennial Cornea Conference October 16-17, 2015 Course Director: Reza Dana, M.D., MPH, MSc, FARVO As one of the world’s premier anterior segment conferences, the Biennial Cornea Conference explored current basic and translational research developments of the cornea and anterior ocular surface. The conference promoted interaction and discussion among leaders in the field, and builds links between today’s exciting research and the numerous diseases that affect this portion of the eye. **Harvard Intensive Cataract Surgical Training Course for Second-Year Residents** June 13-14, 2015 This highly popular national course offered a complete preparatory course covering all aspects of cataract surgery. The course drew an elite group of cataract surgical preceptors from the top training programs nationwide. Two one-hour lectures for residents were given Friday morning by faculty from the various specialties within ophthalmology. Course Directors: Sherleen H. Eye and Ear Uveitis Instruction Course** February 28, 2015 Designed for ophthalmology residents, fellows, medical students, and practicing ophthalmologists from Boston and the surrounding New England area, the day-long course reviews the diagnosis and treatment of common uveitis conditions and covers diagnostic testing, imaging and treatment approaches to ocular inflammatory disease. Invited faculty speakers will include uveitis specialists from Bascom Palmer, Cleveland Clinic, Emory and Weill Cornell in addition to uveitis faculty from Harvard Medical School. Open-ended panel discussions and presentations reviewed risk factors for common complex eye disorders such as AMD, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, as well as disorders caused by highly penetrant mutations, such as inherited retinal degenerations, optic atrophy and strabismus.
