 

#  Maryam Zekavat, MD, PhD, Receives AUPO/RPB Resident and Fellow Research Forum Award

 At the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology (AUPO) 2025 Annual Meeting, Maryam Zekavat, MD, PhD, a PGY-3 ophthalmology resident, was one of four trainees to receive the AUPO/Research to Prevent Blindness (RPB) Resident and Fellow Research Forum Award. Dr. Zekavat was recognized for her research on the multi-omics of AMD in the UK Biobank.

The AUPO and RPB established the Resident and Fellow Research Forum to acknowledge the importance of research in ophthalmic education. The Forum is intended to encourage promising trainees to pursue a career in academic ophthalmology and vision research.
