**[Endowed chair](http://eye.hms.harvard.edu/professorships/)** established in 2011 to honor **[Joan W. Miller, MD](http://eye.hms.harvard.edu/joanmiller)**, the [David Glendenning Cogan Professor of Ophthalmology](https://eye.hms.harvard.edu/professorships/cogan), chief of ophthalmology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear and Massachusetts General Hospital, and head of Harvard Ophthalmology. Currently named for Miller’s father, the chair will be renamed the **Joan Whitten Miller Professorship in Ophthalmology** upon her retirement.
