After nearly a decade of service as Director of Vision Rehabilitation at Mass. Eye and Ear, Mary Lou assumed the position of Director of Vision Rehabilitation for the University of British Columbia Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences in Vancouver, in 2015. Mary Lou was the first ophthalmologist to direct Mass. Eye and Ear’s Vision Rehabilitation Service and was the driving force behind the creation of new national standards of comprehensive rehabilitative care for patients with vision loss.
