Blake Hauser, MD, PhD, to Participate in Resident and Fellow Research Forum

Blake Hauser

Blake Hauser, MD, PhD, a PGY-2 ophthalmology resident, was selected to participate in the 2026 Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology (AUPO)/Research to Prevent Blindness (RPB) Resident and Fellow Research Forum at the annual meeting in February. The forum was established to encourage the most promising trainees to pursue careers in academic ophthalmology and vision research. Dr. Hauser will present her research, which used structure-based network analysis to identify genetic variants that may cause inherited retinal degenerations. 

Dr.Hauser earned her MPhil in Biological Sciences from Cambridge University in 2017 and completed her MD/PhD through the Harvard/MIT combined program before joining our residency program in 2024. She has demonstrated exceptional research productivity with 72 peer-reviewed publications (18 as first author), multiple awards, including the Department of Ophthalmology Best Abstract Award, and independent research funding through the VitreoRetinal Surgery Foundation.
