Atlantic Coast Retina Club/Macula 2026
Harvard Ophthalmology was well-represented at the 50th Annual Atlantic Coast Retina Club (ACRC) and Macula 2026 meeting in Philadelphia earlier this month, with faculty and trainees participating as presenters, panelists, and moderators.
Faculty members—including Demetrios Vavvas, MD, PhD; Ivana Kim, MD; Nimesh (Nemo) Patel, MD; John B. Miller, MD; Dean Eliott, MD; Ines Lains, MD, PhD; and Department Chair Rishi Singh, MD—presented on topics ranging from intraocular lymphoma and the effects of GLP-1s on age-related eye disease to novel macular hole repair techniques and preventative strategies for proliferative vitreoretinopathy.
Former Department Chair Joan W. Miller, MD, was also honored for her exceptional clinical, research, and leadership contributions to ophthalmology and retina.
More than eight trainees across Mass Eye and Ear and Boston Children’s Hospital participated in the Fellow and Resident Case presentations. Congratulations to PGY-4 ophthalmology resident Ryan (Sameen) Meshkin, MD, and Reem Alahmadi, MD, a pediatric vitreoretinal surgery and ocular oncology fellow at Boston Children’s Hospital, who each received awards for their clinical presentations.
