Headshot of Dr. Daniel GongDan Gong, MD, has been honored with the 2020 Robert Brockhurst Academic Development Award. This award provides essential support to clinical or research retina fellows by enabling them to attend and present at national conferences. Dr. Gong, who previously served as Ophthalmology Chief Resident at Columbia University, is currently completing a two-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Mass. Eye and Ear under the mentorship of Dean Eliott, MD, and John B. Miller, MD.

Led by Dr. Steven Rose, MD (class of ’90), Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York; and Murray Johnstone, MD, (class of ’71), Professor of Ophthalmology at University of Washington, this award was made possible thanks to the generous support of a number of Mass. Eye and Ear-trained ophthalmologists.
