David Hunter, MD, PhD, Recognized for Service to HMS

David Hunter, MD, PhD, received the 2024 Barbara McNeil Award for Exceptional Service to Harvard Medical School (HMS). This award celebrates faculty who have set the standard for service at HMS through their personal initiative in providing service and engaging others to do the same.

Dr. Hunterhas served as Vice Chair of Promotions and Reappointments at Harvard Ophthalmology for 16 years and co-directs Harvard Ophthalmology's award-winning mentoring program for junior faculty. He has also previously been recognized by Harvard Medical School students with the Excellence in Clinical Instruction Award.

Dr. Hunter received his award at the HMS Faculty of Medicine and Faculty Council Meeting last month. Jennifer Sun, MD, PhD, Ula Jurkunas, MD, and Deeba Husain, MD, were also recognized at the event for their recent promotions to Professor of Ophthalmology.
