Jerry Cavallerano, OD, PhD, to Receive American Academy of Optometry Award

Jerry Cavallerano, OD, PhD, an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School, will be honored with the 2022 William Feinbloom Award at the American Academy of Optometry annual meeting in October. This award is presented to an individual who has made a distinguished and significant contribution to clinical excellence and the direct clinical advancement of visual and optometric service and thus, the visual enhancement of the public.

Dr. Cavallerano, a clinician scientist and Chief of the Center for Ocular Telehealth at Beetham Eye Institute, has been actively involved in diabetic retinopathy clinical research since 1981 and has co-led several national clinical trials. He has also been actively engaged in ocular telemedicine for over 20 years and has been nationally recognized for his work on the Joslin Vision Network, the innovative telemedicine program at Beetham Eye Institute.
