Instructor in Ophthalmology Emily Wiecek, OD, PhD, and research fellow Zhengping (Ping) Hu each received Career-Starter Grants from the Knights Templar Eye Foundation.
With support from this award, Emily will continue studying how anisometropic and strabismic amblyopia affect peripheral visual function. Ping, under the mentorship of Patricia D'Amore, will study an endothelium-specific therapy to prevent vision loss from abnormal vessel growth.
The Knights Templar Eye Foundation, Inc. is a charity sponsored by the (US) Grand Encampment of Knights Templar with the mission “To improve vision through research education, and supporting access to care.”
