Leyla Yavuz Saricay, MD, a Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery Fellow at Mass Eye and Ear, is the 2023-2024 recipient of the Best Clinical Trainee Research Award in Cornea and Refractive Surgery. Presented by the Harvard Ophthalmology Cornea Center of Excellence, this award honors the resident or clinical fellow who has conducted the best research, as judged by a committee, in cornea or refractive surgery. Dr. Saricay received this award for her research project, on “1-Year Changes in the Central Cornea on Anterior Segment OCT and In Vivo Confocal Microscopy in Eyes with Limbal Stem Cell Deficiency Receiving Cultivated Autologous Limbal Epithelial Cell (CALEC) Transplantation.”
