Lucia Sobrin, MD, MPH, the Charles Edward Whitten Professor of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School, presented at a private lecture and fundraising reception for 70 Mass Eye and Ear supporters in Naples, Florida last week. Dr. Sobrin's presentation, “The Power of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence in Saving Sight,” highlighted the department’s growing Clinical Data Science Program and the impact that data science and artificial intelligence can have on the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases including uveitis, age-related macular degeneration, and glaucoma. Mass Eye and Ear Interim President CarolAnn Williams and Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery researcher Daniel B. Polley, PhD, also presented at the event.
