Submissions open for 2018 Gragoudas Prize for Best Basic and Translational Paper by a Mass. Eye and Ear trainee

Dr. Evangelos Gragoudas will once again offer an award for outstanding work in retina published by a Mass. Eye and Ear Trainee.

For 2018, there will again be two $5,000 prizes, one for clinical work and one for basic or translational.

Competition Rules:

  • Only Mass. Eye and Ear and Schepens Eye Research Institute of Mass. Eye and Ear Trainees (Residents, Clinical Fellows, and Research Fellowswho perform research at Mass. Eye and Ear and Schepens) are eligible.
  • The paper must be on some aspect of the retina or retinal disease, and must have been published during Academic Year 2017-2018. Papers that are In Press are also eligible. Trainees may submit more than one paper.
  • The trainee must be first author or, for dual-author papers, an equal co-author.
  • All submissions must be received by the Ophthalmic Education Office by 5:00 pm, Friday, May 4, 2018.

Papers may be submitted on paper or in PDF form (preferred) via email to Charles Ruberto, charles_ruberto@meei.harvard.edu. All submissions will be acknowledged within 2 business days.

The selection committee (Dr. Dean Eliott, Dr. Evangelos Gragoudas, and Dr. Lucia Sobrin) will review all submissions and select the winning papers.

Dr. Gragoudas will present the awards at the 2018 Annual Meeting of the HMS Department of Ophthalmology on Friday, June 8, 2018.
