Yilin Eileen Feng, MD
Future Plans: Cornea and External Disease Fellowship at Stanford University
Dr. Yilin (Eileen) Feng graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with an AB in Human Development and Regenerative Biology and a minor in Global Heath and Health Policy. As an undergraduate, she received four research grants and her thesis project, “Soluble Interleukin-13rα1: A Circulating Regulator of Glucose,” was awarded the Thomas Temple Hoopes Prize for outstanding scholarly work.
Dr. Feng went on to earn her MD with distinction from University of Michigan Medical School with a focus on Health Policy. She was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She received three University of Michigan Medical School Capstone for Impact Grants to fund research projects on the ocular manifestations of COVID-19 patients, toxic shock syndrome following COVID-19 infection, and evaluation of diplopia by emergency medicine physicians and consulting neurologists. She also participated in the National Institutes of Health Supported Short-Term Biomedical Research Training Program where she studied prescription patterns of 30-day anticoagulant starter packs for treatment of venous thromboembolism. She received Dean’s Commendation for Excellence in Clinical Skills and the Art of Medicine, as well as the Glasgow-Rubin Citation for Academic Achievement.
In addition to her research during medical school, she served as Director of Programming for University of Michigan Medical School’s Diversity in Medicine Conference. She also held several roles in her school’s United Asian American Medical Student Association, including Vice President and Health Fair Chair, and served as Co-President for their chapter of the American Medical Women’s Association.
Dr. Feng completed a Transitional Year Internship at Newton Wellesley Hospital as part of Harvard Ophthalmology’s four-year integrated residency program. She has published her work in several peer-reviewed journals, including American Journal of Medicine, Cornea, and Clinical Ophthalmology, and her work has been presented at several conferences including American Academy of Ophthalmology and North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society.
