Dr. Victoria North graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Neuroscience and Behavior and a concentration in Mathematics from Columbia University, where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and the Honor Society of the School of General Studies. Dr. North went on to receive her MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. In medical school, she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society and received the Albert B. Knapp Scholarship, the Glasgow-Rubin Achievement Award, and the Behrens Memorial Prize in Ophthalmology. Her interest in ophthalmology began on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic, where she participated in surgeries conducted to correct strabismus, repair congenital ptosis, and enucleate blind eyes. In medical school, she investigated the correlation between molecular biomarkers of preeclampsia and retinal imaging findings. Before her career in medicine, Dr. North danced in professional ballet companies, performing across the United States and internationally.
