David G. Hunter, MD, PhD, Presents Scobee Lecture

Scobee Memorial Lecture at the American Association of Certified Orthoptists National Meeting in San Francisco earlier this month. Dr. Hunter's lecture focused on when and how strabismus surgery can help orthotropic patients.

The Ophthalmologist-in-Chief at Boston Children's Hospital and Vice Chair of Promotions and Reappointments at Harvard Ophthalmology, Dr. Hunter specializes in treating complex strabismus in adults and children and receives referrals from around the world. His research is focused on the cause, detection, and treatment of amblyopia and strabismus. He co-developed the blinq® vision scanner device, the first and only device FDA cleared to detect amblyopia and strabismus, to help pediatricians diagnose the vision impairments at an earlier age. Under Dr. Hunter's leadership the Boston Children's Hospital Department of Ophthalmology has grown to become the largest pediatric ophthalmology department in the nation.
