Isdin Oke, MD, Receives Harvard Catalyst K12 Award

Isdin OkeIsdin Oke, MD, Instructor in Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School, is a recipient of the Harvard Catalyst K12/Catalyst Medical Research Investigator Training (CMeRIT) Award. This two-year grant award program provides advanced training and financial support to Harvard-affiliated senior fellows and junior faculty focused on clinical and translational research.

As part of his K12/CMeRIT Award, Dr. Oke will study access to vision screening and pediatric eye care in the United States under the mentorship of Ann Chen Wu, MD, MPH, Associate Professor of Population Medicine at HMS and a pediatrician at Boston Children's Hospital, and Harvard Ophthalmology faculty member David Hunter, MD, PhD. Dr. Oke will study the social determinants of health contributing to the visual outcomes in amblyopia with the goal to identify innovative policies and approaches to reduce preventable vision loss in children from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds.
