Jia Yin, MD, PhD, MPH, Recognized with Three Research Awards

Jia Yin headshotJia Yin, MD, PhD, MPH, Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School, is the recent recipient of three research awards to support her basic and clinical research in the areas of corneal angiogenesis, innervation, wound healing, and regeneration.

 

2020 Alcon Research Institute Young Investigator Award: This award aims to encourage and promote the early career development of clinicians and scientists in vision research and ophthalmology. The award will fund Dr. Yin’s research on the interaction between sensory nerves and blood vessels in the cornea.

 

2020 William F. Milton Fund: Established in 1924, the Milton Fund is one of the oldest bequests made to Harvard University. The Fund supports research projects in the fields of medicine, geography, history, and science throughout the University, and will support Dr. Yin’s research project on a novel treatment for chemical eye injury.

 

2021 Mass General Hospital (MGH) Claflin Distinguished Scholar Award. This award provides transitional funding to increase opportunities for women to advance to senior positions in academic medicine. With support from this award, Dr. Yin will study the neuro-regulation of corneal angiogenesis.
