Marta Stevanovic, MD, MSc, Named AY2024-25 Chief Resident

Marta StevanovicWe are pleased to announce that Marta Stevanovic, MD, MSc, currently a PGY-3 resident, has been selected to serve as Harvard Ophthalmology Chief Resident and Director of the Mass Eye and Ear Eye Trauma Service for the 2024-2025 academic year.

In this vital role, Dr. Stevanovic will help oversee one of the busiest ocular trauma centers in the country and serve as a teacher and mentor to the department's residents. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Stevanovic will also serve as a key member of the ophthalmology residency program leadership team and teaching faculty.

Dr. Stevanovic earned her MD from Emory University, where she held a Robert W. Woodruff Fellowship, a merit-based full tuition and stipend scholarship for all four years of medical school.

Dr. Stevanovic has been an outstanding resident who really exemplifies our academic mission. She is a stellar clinician who always strives for improvement, a thoughtful educator of others, and a promising researcher. She is committed to academic excellence and, like those before her, is dedicated to building on the existing strengths of the Ophthalmology Residency Training Program to make it even better. She will be a fantastic mentor for residents and colleague for our faculty.

Dr. Stevanovic appointment will follow that of Isaac Bleicher, MD, who will serve as Chief Resident and Director of the Eye Trauma Service for the upcoming academic year, 2023-2024.
