Virtual Surgical Training Curriculum Goes National

May 13, 2020

Chief Resident Grayson Armstrong and 2021-22 Chief Resident Margot Weinert have spearheaded the development of a weekly virtual cataract surgical training curriculum. Each week, they tackle a topic in cataract surgery by putting together readings and videos online. The week culminates in a Zoom case conference on Tuesdays.

The program has been extremely successful and has now been shared nationally to Residency Program Directors through the AUPO, enabling residents in other programs to participate. We are planning to expand this virtual education offering to subspecialty surgery and are continuing to explore new ways to learn virtually.
