Harvard Ophthalmology was well-represented at the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus annual meeting.

On March 11, the department celebrated Lotfi Merabet, OD, PhD, MPH, who was recently promoted to Professor of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School.

Harvard Ophthalmology was well represented at last month’s annual meeting of the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology (AUPO) in San Diego.

On January 23, Harvard Ophthalmology hosted the Residents’ Course at Mass Eye and Ear, focused on degeneration and regeneration in ophthalmology. 

Linda Dagi, MD, presented the keynote lecture at Eye on the Future 2025: Strabismus Simplified, a two-day program hosted July 5–6 at the Mithu Tulsi Chanrai Campus of L V Prasad Eye Institute in Bhubaneswar.

The Harvard Ophthalmology Cornea Center of Excellence brought together faculty members on September 13 for a workshop on corneal cell therapy.

On September 15-17, 2025 the World Medical Innovation Forum brought together nearly 2,000 leaders from industry, investment, government, and academia to explore the breakthroughs reshaping healthcare. 

Several faculty, along with one alumna, will be honored with awards at the American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting this month in recognition of their outstanding contributions to vision research, education, and service.

On October 11, ten faculty and staff from Mass Eye and Ear—along with their families—participated in the Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB) Boston Vision Walk.

Six faculty members and nine trainees participated in FLORetina-ICOOR and the World Retinopathy of Prematurity Congress, held December 4-7 in Florence, Italy.
